I'm not sure this is real, but I'm told it is, and I hope it's true...

Fulbright’s email:

Dear Representative,

I hope you are taking care of yourself during this busy session. I know it is a challenging, compressed time.
I am writing to express my grave concern about House Bill 105. Ample evidence has shown that schools and guns do not mix, and in particular, guns in the hands of amateurs/non-professionals is extremely dangerous, especially in any highly-charged situation. to expose our children to greater risk in their schools by encouraging more guns on campuses is something that we cannot allow.

My husband and I moved to Wyoming not too long ago. We believed it was a good place to raise children. With the recent and reactive expansion of gun laws and the profoundly serious dangers of fracking, we find we are seriously reconsidering our decision, which is wrenching to all of us. However, the safety of our family must come first. We are waiting to see what the legislature does this session. I know of other new-to-Wyoming families in similar contemplation. Your choices matter. It would be sad to see an exodus of educated, childrearing age adults from Wyoming as a result of poor lawmaking.

sincerely, Rev. Audette Fulbright

Hunt’s response:

Rev. Fulbright,

I’ll be blunt. If you don’t like the political atmosphere of Wyoming, then by all means, leave. We, who have been here a very long time (I am proudly 4th generation) are quite proud of our independent heritage. I don’t expect a “mass exodus” from our state just because we’re standing up for our rights. As to your comments on fracking, I would point out that you’re basing your statement on “dangers” that have not been scientifically founded or proved as of yet.

It offends me to no end when liberal out-of-staters such as yourself move into Wyoming, trying to get away from where they came from, and then pompously demand that Wyoming conform to their way of thinking. We are, and will continue to be, a state which stands a head above the rest in terms of economic security. Our ability to do that is, in large part, to our “live and let live” mentality when it comes to allowing economic development, and limiting government oversight. So, to conclude, if you’re so worried about what our legislature is working on, then go back home.

Sincerely,
Hans Hunt
Representative Hans Hunt
House District 02

Now that I'm retired, my income is entirely portable. I don't need a job. Wyoming looks good because I just can't do Texas.

Hope it is true and wish we could get more like Rep Hunt here in the PNW. I believe we are all tired of the whiners moving here to get away from CA, NY, etc and then wanting the rest of us to change to the same way of thinking that screwed up the last place they came from.

I love the response but I feel it is not real.

I get a politician talking like that behind closed doors but not in a public letter. Just like Boehener would not tell Reid to go fluck himself during a public session.

I how the letter is true but highly doubt it is. But none the less I could be wrong.

I remember that this is exactly what happened to California. When I was a kid it was much like Oregon politically, but as I grew up there the East Coasters began moving into the cities like SF and LA, and their views slowly became the majority. Rural California is still Conservative and Republican, but city voters rule by majority vote now. It's a lost cause. The only hope for California is total collapse and splitting it into 2 or 3 states.

Why can't you "do Texas" ?

Don't like the climate or the corruption. I know too many prominent people in Texas.

Bush's Longstanding Criminal Mexican Amigos

Hidden among the glitterati were two relative unknowns. They were, however, familiar to the group at hand. They were the loyal "Amigos de Bush" from San Antonio: criminal defense lawyer Roy Barrera Jr. and car dealer Ernesto Ancira Jr. In contrast to the Salinas group, the ties of Barrera and Ancira to drug cartels would remain unnoticed for another decade. Their ties to George W. would grow stronger.

I was once an inadvertent business partner with Ancira's father. 'Nuff said.

Well I currently have no plans for moving to Wyoming but I dig the response Hans gave to the Rev. Believe me not all Rev, preachers etc believe what this hack job does.

I looked it up and there are copies of both letters on CBS channel 5 web site. Still not 100% proof it's real but it seems to be. If it is true I am going to call him and ask him to move to Oregon, clackamas county to be exact.

If Mitch Greenlick gets his way there may not be a Clackamas County to move to:

<broken link removed>

"The Legislative Assembly may by law refer a measure merging two or more counties to the voters of the counties to be merged for their approval or rejection by a majority of the voters voting on the measure."

Apparently this would let Multnomah County absorb either Washington County, or Clackamas County, or both, by simple majority vote of the counties involved. Guess who would win any such vote.

This guy needs to be removed from office.

He certainly introduces a lot of insane bills. Horrible idea.

By "East Coasters" you must be referring to the yankees. My people south of the Mason Dixon line despise what Commiefornia has become.

Actually it is California's home grown whack jobs that caused most of the change and have spreac it to other parts of the country. As left leaning Massachusetts was when I lived there there was still a conservative streak in most of the lefties there. The complete left wing nuts were from California and their ideas were being spread to other regions. Berkley is still the center of the nut universe.
