Trans-sonic behavior is key to increasing effective accurate range. I'm also thinking that eliminating the sonic boom would mean more energy as well as being quieter, especially suppressed.

I think it would be really useful when using a suppressor. In some platforms, they aren't hearing safe, even with a great suppressor attached.
