From Randy, "Hi and all is Okay. I have had to minimize speaking. I passed my BLUE ICE test just fine. I did not pass the swallow test yesterday. Something weird goin on. The new doc will be here very soon to run a few things down my throat. Takes an hour or so, Later."

From Linda "UPDATE: Randy is doing so well that he talks too much. THIS may be causing swelling in his throat. The swelling reduces the tube for swallowing. The is why he could swallow liquid, but not soft pudding. Get the swelling controlled and he will be good to eat. It could ber from talking too much. Otherwise esophagus looks good and clear. "

Now from me. I worry about trying to call him if he has going quite a while without an update. I don't want to disturb him because he needs all the rest he can get. It was nice to get a call from him today and this update. Keep praying for our friend. Deer season starts Saturday and while he is not a deer hunter I do miss spending time with him.

From Randy just now:" The Trache' is gone, only tood a few but the Trache' is now out. Still nothing by mouth though. Later all."

I bet that is a big relief for Randy. It's been hard for him to speak so we have been still texting. He is still in the recovery hospital but moved upstairs now where he has a decent view. Below is his whole address and room number. Man I miss my friend.

Sorry but I got behind a bit on the messages. For Randy no news is good news but it's a long process. I've been trying to keep my wife, son, daughter and son-in-law happy this deer season. So far my Daughter and Son-in-law both have nice sized 10 point bucks. No Bambi deer for us. We have been trying to better the crop on our property.

Take care all
Ron

I'll cling to my God and my guns, and you can keep the "Change".

Randy passed his swallow test. He has not been able to take ANYTHING by mouth since mid October. He now has his Nestea off to the side of his bed. This is a big step even if the hospital food for his "lunch" was only a couple bouillon packets in a cup of water. It is a big start back on the road to recovery.

No problem, we have not been texting so much now that he can talk. He no longer has a Trache' and that is really nice that we are able to talk. Now that he can finally eat after almost 2 months without anything by mouth at all he has relearned how to eat. He no longer looks like he escaped from the hangman ether. He sent me some pictures one of the bruises on his stomach and I had to tease him a bit about it because without knowing what I was looking at I was worried it was porn for a minute and I had to tease him a bit about it. The Great NEWs is that Randy is coming home the Friday. Right now I'm building ramps for his front door and two places in his house where he is going to need ramps for my Mom's electric wheel chair. I've got the one for the front entrance done and should have the other two done before he gets home. I also worked on his old Bronco today as it would not start and we couldn't even jump it or use my 125 amp charger. I ended up pulling one of the batteries from my truck so I could start it and move it to where it needed to go. One of these days Randy is going to have to spring for a couple of batteries. All in all I'm please that Randy is doing much better and he can even enjoy having our talks like we used to. I believe all the prayers have made a difference for Randy. Now I have to tell a secret. When I prayed the "sinners prayer" with Randy in the ICU when I thought he was going to die and he had that tube down his throat I thought ALL RIGHT! He is saved. Well some bad news is he does not remember that he shook his head and squeezed my hand when I asked him if he wanted me to say it again with him so he could think it alone with me. I have let him know that we need to go over this again and he said Okay. Wish me luck in that I get it right for him.

Good to hear he gets to go home this week. Hope he gets stronger and back to his normal activities soon! Doesn't he have a transfer or two waiting for him? That should be some solid motivation to get moving...

Thanks again Ron!

Randy should be HOME in a little over an hour. :s0155: I've got the 3 ramps completed and even put rubber traction strips on them so the electric wheel chair that my mother is not able to use can get inside, outside and everywhere he needs to go. It's got a pouch in the back for his Oxygen bottle. I'm going to meet him at HOME and help him into the chair if he needs it and show him how it works. I just put new batteries in it an hour ago and everything is loaded in our horse trailer. I'm sure looking forward to having my friend back home. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. PLease keep it up.

Ron

Randy is home and trying to catch up with 1600 emails and paying bills. I built 3 ramps for my mother's electric wheel chair that she can no longer use but it's just right for Randy. I will get after him to send you all a note. Man it's good seeing him at home. He is weaker than mouse milk after 2 months in bed and learning how to walk all over again but he is getting with his PT and giving it heck.

This is great news!!!

Woot!! That is a great news! Tell Randy the prayers continue and that we are all behind him in his recovery! Physical Therapy is not the most fun thing in the world, but if Randy keeps a positive mind set and realistic goals he will succeed. Thanks again Ron, for keeping us posted!

Randy is now getting back on his feet. After spending 9 ½ weeks on his back in bed it has taken quite a bit of work to get back on his feet and I'm really proud of him and how hard he has worked to reach his stage. He still has the big C to whip but his attitude is great and I'm pleased at how well he is moving along. I'm anxious to see him back out there shooting asap.
