Patriots' Day begins in just a couple of hours. :s0160:

Since 1969, Patriots' Day has been observed on the third Monday of April. But I like to celebrate it on the 19th, in honor of the brave men at Lexington and Concord, that gave us the day.

It really should be a NATIONAL holiday.

And our government would do well to remember that there is plenty of room on the calendar for Patriots' Day 2.

May God save our Republic.

WOLVERINES!

A excellent book about today's events in 1775 is :
Paul Revere's Ride...By David Hackett Fischer.

While Paul Revere and his ride is indeed the main topic....the book also details the fights at Lexington and Concord.

Thanks. You've mentioned a couple I have not read. I eat this stuff up, as well as the
Civil War and WW2. I continually am amazed by how our country came together. Talk
about the sun hitting just right, or the perfect storm, etc. So many personalities, so
many diversities, yet it all happened. There must be a word beyond "unique" to
describe America's birth. I am so fortunate to having been born here.
