I took my first computer class in 1965-66. After some years as a transportation engineer (equiv of a Masters in Engineering) I went back and got an AA in Computers. Did IT for 11 years, then went to consulting, setting up Freightliners SAN, plus some Oracle Financials team management.
And I too was forced to go to Win 8 when I got my new desktop although I have three unused licenses for Win 7. Do I like Win 8? Not really, but it does seem to be faster but then I went from a double processer with 4 GB of memory to a I-7 with 16 GB and a 7200 rpm drive.
Hope the Win 8.1 upgrade coming will give me a better choice of interface.
