Winchester model 70 stock question...

Recently bought a Winchester model 70 (30-06), with Choate Ultimate Sniper Rifle Stock. I enjoy the gun but not so much the stock due to it not having a mag and having to load each individual round. Ive looked at buying a detachable box mag assembly to install in it but would have to cut out a portion of the bottom of the stock... Anyone know anyone who could do this for me or have any suggestions?

Personally, I would ditch the stock. Choates are very uncomfortable and far from user friendly. There are several other brands of stocks that are more ergonomic and useful regarding your needs. Once you buy a detachable box mag, you're going to want to bed your rifle, do a trigger job and get better optics anyway...so you might as well go all in. Cheers.

Yea I'm thinking of selling or trading for a remington 700... Ive heard they are a lot easier to to the conversion on.

I have a rem 700 police sniper and I hate that stock but at least it has the mag and floor plate. Personaly I'd opt for a Savage 783 (738?)
