Why does sighting in a red dot or most scopes have to be so frustrating? R/L U/D

On some red dots (especially) and some scopes when you are turning the knob to the right it means the dot is moving to the right and your point of aim is moving to the left.

Others, the opposite. Why can't they all be universal? For instance, the other day an RMR site was one way and a different brand red dot was the opposite.

I had a cheap Chinese scope last year. What a pain R/L worked one way, U/D the other way. I wanted to smash the thing. Took me over an hour just to get on paper.

Now I put a written note in the gun case to remind me how each site needs to be adjusted.

IMO it would be nice if all red dots, when you turn to the right, your POA moves to the right - keep it simple, but noooooooooooo ....

Yeah, dont get that either... I ran through 50 rounds with my first green dot for my pistol... Drove me nuts, I could of sworn it was moving the way I wanted, just not much... Yeah, nope...
