They could have been.
Approaching a son, daughter, wife or husband requires a different approach,
You either have been there or not.
If it was an 870,
Hell yeah,
Offer $350 for it
See where it goes...
This was a vulture, circling a grave, seeing if the kids will come visit for seconds...

Looks like Sniders are going for about $750 now, if they offered 1k thats more then the going rate.

Could be they saw you selling guns and thought that others might be for sale and you might not be as interested in the antiques. Obviously if it's a sentimental thing no amount of money is worth it, but don't attribute to malice things that can be attributed to lack of knowledge especially when your own perception is clouded by grief.

I have friends who I wouldn't hesitate to ask their family if such and such gun was for sale if they passed. Partly because I want them to get the proper amount if they sell them, and partly because I have fond memories of time with them and that gun.

We go to estate sale quite a bit. It's a pretty neat pass-time. And yes, not unusual to see guns. Ammo, primers and other loading equipment too. The companies that do these sales will sometimes have FFL holders on site. Others will most likely have a pawn shop lined up to do the BG check.

Looks a little like ifish, with some of the crap throwing above.

I think I am barking up the wrong tree on this site.
Lol
Most of us here can neither read your mind nor understand your written expression readily.

Try thinking about the people on the other end of your posts, and how you might help them understand through more coherent language.

I get what the OP is saying. Some people are just impertinent and disrespectful when it comes to the possessions of the deceased.

When my father passed a few years ago I had an associate of his approach me claiming that my dad had given him a particular rifle from his collection.

I responded back "Clearly not or you would already have it". He protested a little about my "unfair" stance but I cut him off with "Take it up with my dad". Never really liked that guy anyway.

literally.. No one knows what you're even talking about. So you had a Snyder at a sale. and a guy commented? What's the problem?
I have poor reading comprehension and even I understood what he wrote.

OP did not bring the Snyder to the sale. It was at home in the OP's safe because the OP did not wish it to be offered for sale. Tacky guy inquired about it anyway and tried to low ball an offer to the OP.

"Tacky" guy inquired about a gun he knew the OP had, to the OP who was selling guns at an estate sale. "Tacky" guy offered above market rate for the gun, OP got offended.

"Your dad had this Snyder?" conjures up an image of someone handling or at the very least looking at said Snyder at that specific moment in time. It's a weird way to word a question if they were actually referring to something that was not at the estate sale.

It would take hearing the question in person with a particular inflection to understand that the question was really asking/implying, "You're dad used to have a Snyder in his collection, is that still around/for sale?"

Original post came across as cryptic to say the least, but it makes a little more sense now.

After all, Tacky IS hard to recognize by Tacky people.

And it's rather Tacky of me to point that out here where apparently a few have congregated.

It would be even more Tacky of me to point out a lack of reading skills, so I won't.

After reading 33 posts, I think I kinda get it now.

But, I've been playing golf and drinking beer all day, so I do have an advantage. :p

I think it was more the offended the person inquired about a sentimental piece that he clearly didn't wanna sell.

Idk, I'm guessing.
