I know, it's only a Chinese shotgun. But it's the idea.

So what were the circumstances? The guy just had to paint something, the closest thing at hand was a shotgun, and all he had was blue paint??

I've seen other things like this offered online painted red, white, pink, etc. Another question would be, does anybody actually buy this stuff?

Blue shotguns commonly signify less than lethal loads &/or training shotguns.

Not saying that's what this seller's purpose was for painting it blue, if any purpose at all.

It's only missing the best selling point:

"rattle can painted, but YOU can so very easily strip it all off with with __________ (insert chemical seller thinks is ever so easy)

It used to bother me more but meh as long as the practicing of ill fraught artistic talents is on modern production guns and not historical or collectible pieces then whatever. This is better than the StarWars cosplayers hacking up nice C96s for their Solo Blaster builds

Maybe it was for a young son to help entice interest in shooting?

Could be a variety of reasons…

I would bubba up a firearm before bubba-ing up my body with ink and my brother does tats for a living.

Access to free ink - everyone is welcome to do as they please and think what they want but it's to bad you aren't able to take advantage of such a unique position.

Or how about intentionally making a gun look 'distressed' or 'battleworn'?

I mean for what reason or purpose is there in taking a gun, of any condition and essentially 'destroying' it?

A gun worn 'naturally' is one thing but to do so intentionally defies rational and logic.

Whenever I see something like this I try not to judge but cant help it. I can only come up with some "bubba" logic for stuff like this with Budweisers "real men of heros" theme. Its kinda like the next level to those that just have to mod their new gun they never shot yet, except these people want to stand out above the rest.

But I cant think of anyone who would want to buy a completed gun bubbafied like this and there's been a few in the classifieds here.

Aside from just paint how about those who destroy otherwise 'classic' or valuable guns?

Several years ago a pawn shop owner I used to know in Bend called me into his office to look at a gun he had bought.

He opens his desk drawer, and pulls out a S & W, opens it, and hands it to me.

It was an early S&W .45 ACP revolver - but the idiot had cut the barrel to about 3", welded some sort of a front sight on it and gave it a 'home' parkerizing job.
