Took some guns and ammo to my parents Estate sale.
First guy, first question.
"Your dad had this Snyder?"
Saw where that was going.
He went straight for the meat and potatoes.
I let him know it was in my safe, with a dozen of his other extra nice peices....
He may have offered me 1k,
Proabably not,
But for sure would have explained how much he knew, and how little I knew about it's value.
I just remember,
Karma is a bubblegum...

Not sure what this thread is about either.

I do know what a Snyder is...even shot a couple of them.

Did someone offer you money for some guns...?
Why would you take guns and ammo to a estate sale...?

In any event...nice Snyder.

Well,
I sold a couple hundred guns over the last two years at gun shows and such,
Had buckets of brass, 100 lbs of powder a literal pile of ammo, and lots of $2-300 guns.
So It was worth my time to be there.

Please educate me and probably some other knuckledraggers like me, whats a snyderworth? 1k is a goodly amount of coin. Of course if it elicits fond memories of family it is priceless.

Okay....
Still don't know why you would bring guns and ammo to a estate sale.
Or if there was any reason to suspect something about the guy asking about the Sndyer.

All that said...
I am done here...so enjoy your thread.

No It's that there are different "Snyder" guns is all. Synder in Iowa makes amazing long range rifles. All modern firearms. Snider Enfields are Curious-Relic worthy. Some of us, myself included just weren't sure what you meant. And separately since in Oregon you can't sell guns directly at an Estate Sale (unless it's through an FFL or you time travel back) it seemed a little odd you'd take guns to an estate sale where in most instances they couldn't be sold.

That said, yeah there are lots of folks that act tacky and are tacky trying to buy stuff. Think Black Friday in a mall. Sorry for your loss but enjoy what seems to be a really cool inheritance.

I'm with you, haven't a clue. Least wise intent.
Not like I'm ignorant to black humor, facetious, flippant, sarcastic or cryptic messaging, but definitely not a member of the choir and still in the crypt here.

Oh,
I made everything go through the local gunshop.
I do not hang my butt out there to get pinched....
They guy knew my dad, had seen his collection.
There is a way to approach a person, and a way not to.
Do a deal, have it go well,
Show some good faith.
And if there is something you really want, then ask to see it purchase it.
But do not do the Pawn Shop approach to see how bent over you can get a person body before doing the deed.
That is my point.
A lot of people just do not know how to just pay a person for what something is worth, or even close to what it is worth.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this, if I want to buy something I want to buy that thing, not that thing and a tchotchke to get the deal going. Could they have been more tactful maybe, I wasn't there.
