Why are there rails ON my red dot scope?

I want to trick out one of my AR's like the ones above, but I want to add one more unique item!
The stabilizer from my compound bow! Let's see the other operators figure that one out!

I watched some dood this morning on utoob that was benching his dot sighted single-shot shotgun with some wobbly 2x4's tacked together.. with a bubble level screwed on it.
