We are here because the Legislature does not want to legislate. If they actually started doing their jobs they would be on record and held accountable by their constituents, meaning losing their lucrative opportunities to get rich from bribes and insider trading.

The result is that we have established a precedent for Presidents to do the legislature's job by Executive Order or by simply making operational decisions through the agencies the President manages.

This is how a Constitutional Republic becomes a Totalitarian State and effectively a Monarchy. I'm not ready to accept becoming a Subject, but due to the laziness of American voters here we are.

The fat fool opened the doors to this with his 'bump stock' poo poo... and he was blessed as a demi-god. Go figure!
No disagreement that the bump-stock thing was utter horse-hockey, and ditto placing the blame (largely) on a former POTUS, but BATFE spitting out rulings is nothing new. Most are simply procedural in nature, but others are more obnoxious. The 41F ruling (which was a mixed bag) happened during the lingering BO era, the turning of several types of shotguns into destructive devices happened with Slick Willie, and an import ban on "assault weapons" (which is still very much in force) was ramrodded through under Bush the Elder with his direction; just to name a few.

Throwing a bunch at a wall to see what sticks. The courts will tear it up.
Agreed. I have to wonder how much of this crap will survive judicial review.

One party totalitarian dictatorship. Won't have half the class of a monarchy. The Tsar would have been preferable.

As usual, they want to make things more "illegal-ler" and always say there's an "epidemic of gun violence". It's mid term season and they will do everything to appease the anti gunners at the expense of our rights, while shredding the constitution to bits piece by piece.
The recent gang related shoot out, in CA proved on the most obvious levels that despite having "gold standard" of just about every draconian gun law in the books, stuff still happens. Again, showing it's not about lives, it's about control. Also shows you can't legislate morality, but to the anti gunners, you can somehow.

Didn't even fail to throw in the classic, "you must be the worlds worst shot if you need that many bullets to take a deer" (speaking on high capacity mags).

I think, just like Corn Pop, we know his whimsical anecdote didn't happen. If he was truly in the woods alone with some who felt his bill was massive infringement, they'd have dug him up days later.
C'mon, man... don't you know he was hunting in the woods while driving a semi on his way to his job as a miner, while also moonlighting as a railroad engineer?

Gotta make those high gas prices and inflation seem like minor elements or annoyances compared to 'gun violence! Opioids, inflation or guns - pick one that will help with re-election!
Unless Trump makes it through the primaries the reelection is doomed. I doubt Biden would run again anyway.
