I've been doing this for a few years now. Those small cylinders have gotten crazy expensive lately. On the gas front I keep about 35 gal of "Clear" gas (28 gal in a boat and a couple of cans) stored for use in vehicles and backpacking stoves. That's a lot of cooking.

Propane is less than ideal in sub freezing weather. Have a heck of a time getting a good sear on a steak in weather like we've had the last week.
