Which would u rather have, the new HK SP5 semi auto or a bunch of other guns?

HK SP5 $2700ish

or all of the following (insert ur own favorite of same price to replace any of the below),

A) Stribog 9mm $650 +
B) 9/40/45 modern wonder gun -fe Glock 19 or similar- $500 +
C) Lever gun (fe 357, 44mag, 45LC, or 30-30) $600 +
D) .22 silent Armscor bolt action threaded $118 +
E) .22 fun gun Hk 416 pistol (or similar) $350 +
F) .22 Suppressor on sale with stamp $300
G) pump shotgun used $150

First of all, try to find one for less than $3K
Then consider, excluding transfer fees, here's what have I bought for $2,900

Remington R1 Enhanced
2 x Remington R51 9mm
Savage Long Range 6.5 Swede in McRee Chassis, with glass
Browning Auto-5
Mossberg 500 (two barrels, unfired)
Western Field 30
AR-6.5 Grendel on LMT Lower, LaRue trigger, Wilson Barrel

The Mossy is a gift to one of my kids. Everything else I shoot. A lot.

And then, consider the "only one gun" option like Andy suggested. I bought a pre-64, Winny '94 for $400 and *love* shooting that one.

I've owned a bunch of HKs. They are superb firearms, and their "No Compromise" motto is demonstrated in their manufacturing. Do I wish I still had them? Heck yes. Considering what I have spent on firearms in the last decade, do I really want a HK that badly? No, obviously not.

A couple of more levers.

Agreed, I like Levers.

Only way I'd buy that SP5 is if I was a hardcore HK fan.

I'm not.

Id buy ammo with the extra $ instead. Get a $700 gun and $2000 in Ammo sounds like a whole lot more fun to me.

When I was younger, I bought every cheap POS knife I could find. I had soooo many knives. I ended up throwing some away and the rest are rusting in a bag in my parents house somewhere. Now I have 2 or 3 nice folders, 2 or 3 nice fixed blades I made, and that is about it.

My philosophy on guns is similar, however proposed legislation has prompted me to buy/build more cheap guns that might be banned than I would prefer, but I try to stay away from anything I wouldn't trust my life to, like all those crappy knives I had as a kid.

The HKSP5 is a booger I will not pick.
My nose (and wallet) will bleed.
A 10mm or a 40, I would be tempted to let my nails grow.

If i could actually afford it, id buy the sp5. I like the idea of having the real deal over a clone (not dissing clones).
In my position, i have 3 pther rifles im slowly building, so that takes the possibility of buying the sp5 out of question.

$2700 cash in hand? Id take the option that scored me more guns.

While the MP5 is cool, in no way is it $2700 cool. Closest Id come would be $800 and maybe $1200-$1400 after NFA work to SBR it.

Firearm choices are extremely personally .
Of the list and if I had the $2, 700 to spend...
I'd get a really nice Winchester 1894 rifle or carbine ( Pre-64 )
Andy
I have a Saddle Ring Carbine from 1918, but it's in sad shape. IF (big if) I was to spend that kind of money on a lever, I'd restore the one I have. It's something I consider time to time. An old lever is always cool.

There's a lot to be said about doing this, or something along these lines. I have a $700 rifle with a $600 scope. I surely don't have the remainder invested in ammo and have done enough shooting with the gun to become very familiar and comfortable with it.

Because I like to make poor decisions, I could spend $2700 on a gun. This HK isn't what I'd do it on for me. I prefer carbine caliber pistols. But because I wouldn't do it, it's probably a good investment! :p If I ever took the plunge and spent 3K+/- on a gun, I'd probably buy a really good bolt action hunter.

In reality, I'll spread the money around to more than one "hobby".

I've yet to ever regret paying more for better quality, but I have more than one regret when paying less and getting something I never really enjoyed from the get go.

While not another gun, but a really nice dedicated reloading set for a fraction of the price (if possible), and many bullets to play with.

But I will eventually get that Stribog, the younger cousin to the CZ Scorpion!
