Andreason's Funeral Home, Springfield, OR: Simple cremation $993.00. Just checked the website. I would book now at that price if I could be sure it would not jinx me! When I first moved to Springfield (1995) they were advertising $629.00. 30 years, 50%+ more. Still the way I will get it done. My wife wants her ashes spread wherever the Oregon mustangs roam. I want to be spread in the San Juan Islands.

I see free pallets all over the place. I am thinking a funeral pyre is how I want my remains to be handled. If I can be snuck into the burning man structure, bonus points will be awarded.

We'll commandeer one of the homeless floats all along the Willamette, load it up with pallets, and set it ablaze with your body on top. Then we'll nudge it to drift gently down river while we blast Wagner's "Siegfried's Funeral March".

Strip me of any valuables before setting me adrift. I don't want those homeless pirates digging through my ashes and getting anything good.

I recently spent 4 days in Idaho with my brother who had a serious heart issue, No one in our family had any idea what he wanted if the worst would have happened. After a few days of conversation, in the hospital, at least we have an idea of what his wishes would be.

If it does not involve a giant weather balloon and copious amounts of Christmas ornaments I will be disappointed.

Spending time with family is always good, we never know when our last visit will be. I hope he has a speedy recovery and much more life ahead of him, but I would not skimp on the visits based on hope. It's not like extra time won't still be fond memories.

A difficult subject for many,

Take a look at Ecclesiastes 12:7 and Genesis 3:19 in the Bible. It really doesn't matter what happens to the physical body at death. A inexpensive funeral won't make a difference one way or another once a person passes from this life. My main concern is not leaving complications for my family once I pass on.
