Trijicon RCR or Aimpoint Acro P2.

I have a Acro P2 on a G26. Mail box gang! Blocks on Glocks. Haha. Top slide is a G26.

I prefer fully enclosed sights for anything I may need on a moment's notice. Open sights sometimes collect gunk that makes them not immediately usable without a quick wipe down. Its not much work, but its way more than I want to be fiddling with in that kind of situation.

Vortex makes a perfectly serviceable model for a decent price (their Venom line). If you have cash to burn Aimpoint makes a bulletproof version too (The Acro).

But if this is just a range gun there are a ton of great options out there, Holosun being one of them. I also like the Sig Romeo series, with the exception of the Romeo Zero because it needs more than just the mount screws to hold zero (you need the full Sig cut because the sight actually indexes off the front face, not the mount points like every other sight. If you do not have that front cut to index off of the polymer casing will drift badly).

My favorite red dot is green, and not a dot but a circle...so I'm not likely to be much help.

My preference is the Holosun 508T-Green, my bride runs both 508s and 507s. Just a suggestion: make sure you look through them yourself and that the dot works for you. Those of us with astigmatism or some other eye issues may favor one dot over another. I prefer the circle as some dots flare like the 4th of July for me. I know nothing about mounting on Glocks.

Glock mounting -

MOS system sucks.
Direct mill cost money and time.

lol.

I have one green dot optic and agree the green color is superior "eye gathering" to red in all light situations, but not that red is bad to use....
My favorite red dot sights are my Trijicons mainly for their autobright feature works very well adjusting to the ambient light. Of the Trijicons so far the SRO model is my favorit due to its larger sight picture but those are better on larger pistols.

I've got some astigmatism, too and was looking for a green reticle. The circle/dot or circle seemed like what I wanted, too. I picked up a Holosun 507K red and held it out at arms length. I found it very clear and precise, so I bought the red instead of paying more and waiting for the green.

Green works better for astigmatism? I've looked into best optics for astigmatism but don't recall that being mentioned. Cool if it is, I seem to like green over red in ACOGs at least.

A lot of red dots appear as grape clusters 🍇 to my eyes.

My Romeo 4 / Juliet 4 combo in green circle & dot is very precise and crisp.

I have 2 of the same Trijicon 3-9x40 scope on different rifles, one green, one red, exact same reticle. The green is more crisp to my astigmatism.

The green dot on my the Trijicon MRO works better for me as well over the Aimpooint.

However, none of them are as crisp as the PA and Trijicon Prism sights.

Yeah, that sounds intuitive to me.

The dot on my aimpoints is a bit blurry at high power, but within acceptable margin of error for their role. If they came out with one in green, I would likely take a hard look at it.
