I have saved my best elk and deer racks but need to find them new homes before moving. Kids aren't interested and from what I'm reading I can't sell them in Oregon.

I've had the elk for 30+ years and the deer for 15+. More sentimental value than anything but I hate to trash them.

Trade them? Not illegal to sell in WA if you happen to be close to the line. Lots of racks on E bay and craigslist.

I see them for sale every weekend at flea markets, antique stores, and estate sales.
I've read that its technically illegal, but obviously its not enforced.
I won't go so far as to say that I've bought and sold them.

Its illegal to sell them?
I'm not positive but it seems like if they are not split from the skull it is illegal.

I may be completely reading it wrong but my elk is a mounted with the skull cap intact. I suppose I could split it but I hate to do that.

It looks like you could jump through some hoops and sell them IF you can prove they were legally taken. If you're like me, you don't have all the old tags for animals taken 30+ years ago. My son will inherit mine whether he wants them or not. LOL.

I suppose if I wanted to get rid of them, I could always give them away. I don't think there is any law preventing that. I could be mistaken though.
