My last few cars now in the hands of my son, and grandkids - not believing in credit, these are the best I can do with cash. Yes, they're all electric just like my 60' motorsailer!

This was my daily driver for many, many years.
It is a 1973 Super Beetle that I had bought in 2004 and built from a sad car from the PO to what I wanted.

I replaced the giant "elephants feet" tail lights and fenders with a set from an earlier car as they just look better.
The louvered decklid came out of a swap meet for the measly price of $35.
And I made the exhaust for it.

My car club, the Rose City Volksters came to the rescue after my heart attack in 2016.
Previous to the event, I was in the process of changing the clutch out and they made a plan with my wife to come over one Friday and reassembled the car and made it run again for us.

Now, the car is under my sons ownership as I gave it to him.
I made him a deal in the 8th grade that if he was to go through all of high school with no D's or F's on a report card, then I would give it to him.
He did his part, so the car has been his for a few years now.

The weekend after his 9th birthday, I had him remove the transmission on his own.
I was just there to loosen the tight stuff and instruct.
We did this in the morning before his baseball game.

My second vehicle was a 64 bug. In high school speech class we had to give a demonstration speech. I took the class out to parking lot and removed my engine. Got an A.

Brought home a new pickup...

...got rid of the Kentucky Kalamari and replaced it with this Ta'Yota Aichi. Not many midsize RWD sedans under a bajillion dollars, so my choices were limited.
It'll take a rick of firewood with the rear seats folded down, and there's still enough room left to pick up a coffee.

No wonder your pockets are M. T. :D
Lucky for them, I found a bit of lint that hadn't fallen through the pocket holes.

Ta'Yota keeps some of these models for so long that they chase the gremlins out of them.
Makes for a dependable vehicle, but you have to relearn tellin' time by analog clock and have to sort through the attic to find those CDs from the 1980s.

I drove a 89 Volvo stationwagon for a couple years, it gave it's life protecting me in a headon with an old lady that didn't know how to stay in her lane.

Then I drove an 84 Corolla for a while, it had almost 350k miles on it when my roommate rolled it. Again a car gave it's life protecting me.

That was my 1st 1911 on my hip, and it was worth more than the car.

Now I drive a 95 Buick landyacht.
I love my Maverick. It's a 2022 with the FX4 package and it's that "cyber orange" color
