Your all funny they will just drag it over to the track and set it on. No big deal. Sure it leans a little as it goes down the track but all the extra weight on top of the cars will hold it down just fine.
 
A rigging failure, probably not an engineering miscalculation. That rigging was probably rated for that load when it was new but got nicked or damaged and you see the result. Most common failure when using a crane (some sort of rigging gives)

I was standing next to a 110,000 lb truck scale when the straps broke and it fell 10 feet to the ground. Made a hell of a racket. Brand new straps but my boss placed them where there was a sharp edge and soon as it wiggled enough they gave.
