Vintage marlin question

Anyone ever change a pistol grip stock for a straight stock? Is this possible?
Crazy complicated?
A bit of work?
Dirt simple?

Looking at the late 40s through early 60s era of Marlin 336 variants in particular.

Possible. Need stock, lever, and lower tang.

Easier to trade for a straight stocked rifle. But if you want to keep the "same rifle," then buy a straight stocked one and swap parts. Or go on a hunt for the individual parts.

I have a full set from a Marlin Texan. Different era (80s) , but that's where I got the idea.
A wavy top with straight stock would be unique.
