A mom is suing the City of Santa Fe, Texas, after police handcuffed her and held her into a bed of fire ants, her attorney claims.

Taylor Rogers says she was "tortured" by Santa Fe Police Department officers in 2021 when they arrested her after she reportedly tried to make an illegal turn in a school parking lot.


She says officers pulled her from her car, with her 9-year-old son in the vehicle, and held her down into the anthill.


"Ants are on my face, ants are getting on my face, please!" Ms Rogers could be heard yelling in a police bodycam video shared with KHOU 11. "How can y'all do this? Ants are on my face! Please let go!"

She's clearly known to the local PD and has the "I don't have to stop" mentality. Sounds like she's just looking for a payday. You need to drum up some public sympathy to get the really big bucks. If they don't protest in the streets for her, she'll be lucky to hit low 6 digits.

Arkansas is the place you don't want to commit traffic violations. They call in state troopers if they need a PIT because those boys DGAF. I've seen videos of them PIT someone on the freeway at 130 MPH +. They call it a TVI - Tactical Vehicle Intervention. Stop or get wrecked. They do not play around.

The mother later pleaded guilty to the charges of fleeing police filed against her and the officers were found to have acted appropriately.

She was clearly evading the police and she sounds like a lunatic.

A guy not even involved in the DV call sued us for 7 figures after we broke his leg (long story). The city offered him 15K and this was back in 95. He refused, we went to trial, and he got 0. I went on to work for that dept. For another 4 years and left for other reasons. Some people just didn't think they didn't need to do what we told them to do. Go figure. It always seemed to be off stupid chit too. It was the best job around but even then, patrol was losing support. Now, I don't know how they do it.
