The ability to get jammed-up for nothing more than being in posession of your own gun in a place that The Guv says is a no-go zone is a large part of that. CC-ing without the proper permission slip accounts for a good number too.

You can be minding your own business and get pulled-over for having a headlight out and be cuffed and stuffed if you don't have the Sheriff's authorization to have a cased handgun in the vehicle.

Carrying your EDC and a little drunk? Violation.
Carrying your EDC and commit a minor crime (no gun involved)? Violation.
Carrying concealed without a permit? Violation.

The number of lawful carriers committing ACTUAL "GUN CRIMES" is WAAAY less than 20%. Its a fraction of a single percentage point.
