Do not be fooled by people trying to label their standard sks's as paratrooper sks's,real paratrooper sks's do not have a bayonet lug,I am posting this because I am sick of seeing people try to fool others into paying more for a weapon that they think is a paratrooper SKS when it is just a normal SKS.

Stay informed
- Nomad out.

no such thing as a paratrooper sks, they were all made for commercial export as "cowboy" models. stay away from any with press fit barrels, won't last, seen barrels shot loose.

Actually there is,they have a shorter gas system,16 inch barrel, have a nub where the bayonet lug would be,take ak mags, and are made by Norinco.

Whats a realistic value for a legitimate one of these? It looks like a nice option and I'm looking for one but don't want to overpay, especially if I can get an AK around the same price. I have a standard Norinco already. It's fun but I don't care for the mag situation (duckbills) where it is hard to swap them quickly and safely.

6-700. Sometimes more.
These are nothing like the AK. AK's are loose, floppy sloppy and supposedly "always fire". (Not the few I have been around though). If you already have a SKS you know how there built. Machined solid real steel etc. But A SKS has or will never be a AR/AK they are there own animal.

This is my opinion. And coming from someone with one for sale FWIW.

Flame on....

A fair price would be $450 - $550,over priced ones are commonly seen going for $600 - $750,most of ones fairly priced are not listed online, your best bet is a gunshow.

Also watch gunbroker for what people are paying not just what people are asking. GB seems high most of the time for desired prices but does show what the market is bearing.

Here is a good one to watch with bids on it.
