I Forgot about trans fluid! Might try and mix it up with diesel or keep or even Jet-A, let it soak and add some heat when ready to try it!

Remember, when cleaning BP parts with soap and water not to let any detergent sit on the metal as it will mess up the bluing.

Yes it will....
I plan to strip the remaining blue (which ain't that great anyway) and re-blue it.

I have absolutely nothing of value to add to this conversation, so I'll add this anyway...based on the comments here I'm not as sick as I thought with my affection for nipple wrenches, ball grease and ramrods. Don't forget the anti- sieze lube for reassembly.

Another vote for KROIL. Best penetrating oil out there. Soak for a few days, put in deep freezer for a day, then heat with a torch and it should come right out.
