So if you were so unfortunate as to lose your source of income, find yourself unable to pay your bills and become homeless, we should let you rot in the gutter because you aren't being a contributing member of society? Is your existance as a human being not enough to qualify you as deserving of life and the necessary help to maintain that life?

To many the answer is no. We often ignore others because of our own selfishness. Freewill and responsibility are great buzzwords but don't always answer the question "is mankind my business?". Why are so many parents left to rot in "care facilities"? Convenience. There is a time for tough love, but there also is a time for compassion. Sadly, it too often carries a financial cost we do not want to pay.

The health care issue raises an even more ominous issue for us gun owners. I am surprised that nobody here has touched on it yet.

What about gun owners?

How will the govt. factor in the fact that you own guns?
They are already positioned to use the issue as a public health issue.
Many pediatricians already ask your kids if there is a gun in your home.
How will that affect your rating, or your kids?
Will they even cover you? Will they claim that owning guns puts your family, or even your neighbors, at too much risk?

What if they deny you coverage altogether, unless you agree to turn in your guns for destruction?

Beware of govt. run health care. It puts too much power in their hands. The power, literally, of life and death.

Prepare to be taxed HEAVILY on guns and ammo. (100+%) Trauma centers and gunshot treatment are very expensive for healthcare providers.
Through the backdoor of "healthcare for gunshot trauma" the gov will tax all guns and ammo to pay for said treatment(s).
