Foster kids are Ward of the State . State can do whatever it see's fit with it's property .
But it is kind of bad they removed the kids . As the Foster Parents have already submitted to extensive background searching ( and found to be adequate caretakers ) prior to receiving children .

With all the heiness things that happen to kids it seems ridiculous that these kids be taken away (if these were truly good people) because they own a legal firearm.
