I saw these on another site. Thought they were interesting.

Anyways it looks like the army still has a few 1911's in service.
But they sure look tired.

If the CMP dose end up selling a bunch of these off.
Don't count on all WWII GI parts.

Wouldn't surprise me if they still had them in service.
It's amazing they money that is spent on all kinds of ridiculous things, but the most basic weapons they run until they are garbage.

The slide on the bottom one pictured is from a 1911. Not a 1911A1.
It's not heat treated. Yet here it is! Still not cracked.
