This is the gap that some retention holsters have that are designed for Weapon Mounted Lights.
In some holsters the gap is big enough to let fingers reach in and pull the trigger.
There is a video that I'm looking for that demonstrates this issue.
It shows a firearms instructor, a female assistant and about 8-10 LEO's wearing their daily rigs, weapons holstered and unloaded.
The assistant goes around and is able to reach most of the triggers.
My Google-Foo cannot find this video.
