The Politics of US: Guns

Despite what the extremists tell us, gun rights and gun control are not mutually exclusive. We can have both. Indeed, the story of guns in America is one of balancing gun rights with public safety, respecting the right of individuals to have guns and the ability of lawmakers to impose reasonable restrictions on guns to enhance public safety.

Utter rot.

I'd find this believable if legislators dumped laws that did not improve safety or that were counterproductive - but they don't. As it is, we know that the more guns are distributed through society, the safer that society is. Yet all government is constantly pushing to restrict gun ownership.

Legislators do not legislate to improve safety. They legislate to satisfy their own personal biases or to pay off special interest groups.

While I have reservations and am critical of some the conclusions, it's at least a more mature and informed collection of articles than the usual bombardment of b.s. Too bad it's a tad beyond the intellectual capabilities and attention span of most sheep.
