All in on Arnold Allen. Vs Dan Hooker. 3/19 next Saturday. IMO a steal at even money. Anything can happen but Allen is one tough SOB.

Southpaw seem to have a much greater probability for success. I've always thought that was curious. I suppose growing up in a right handed world, they've had to compensate.
I have not followed UFC since Royce Gracy was fighting.. Didnt they change the rules since then? I seem to remember many more different fighting styles back in the old days
Yes some rules have changed but the difference in what you see today is that fighters are training in many disciplines as opposed to the days of old when you had ju jitsu practitioners fighting wrestlers fighting karate black belts. What you see today is a mix of ju jitsu, wrestling, mui Tai, and boxing.

Yes, MMA has become it's own fighting style, really. All of the great fighters are well rounded now, they can go to the ground with Greco-Roman wrestling or Brazilian jiu-jitsu or play the standup game as strikers. As much as I love and remember the golden era of the Grace days, those fighters back then wouldn't stand a chance against the current stable of fighters. It's really become big money and a science in it's own right with fighters training in various "camps". It's much more global now as well.

Speaking of the Glory Days of UFC, one of my all-time favorites was Matt Hughes, one of the greatest ground-and-pound fighters ever. I used to do Greco-Roman wrestling back in middle school, etc. so I was a big fan... just really a legend of MMA.

Matt's life really took a turn for the worse vs the Train. Plus supposedly his brother was sleeping with his wife and then the brother goes on to support allegations against him of spousal abuse put forth by his wife post train wreck. Ahh, family.

My favorite was Don Frye. One of the toughest men who ever lived and a firearm lover. A pioneer in red pill male philosophy also. The anti-Simp.

His wars in the octagon were legendary.

He has a big heart too. I agree with this also. Had the honor of hanging out with Silva one night myself and the other Silva, as in Anderson. BOTH the nicest, most humble people ever.

he. well, and the lead bad guys over acting.. was the best part of Godzilla: Final wars

Did I mention I believe (at even odds) that Arnold Allen will be Dan Hooker this Saturday? A very fair bet. Looks like it already moved to -110, but still a good bet.

OK done with lining up bets for Sat 3/19. Should be fun, but I might have to work. One thing I've noticed is if bets are chosen wisely (or done well, with research) the Buy Out climbs up a bit. So I haven't been opposed to taking the chicken route and bailing for a minor profit. Bird in the hand sort of thing.

** DONE with online betting *** Will cash out any even bets now. So pissed off.

Accountant telling me I am supposed to pay taxes on any gambling GAINS even when losses are higher - because I don't itemize deductions on my 1040. I totally get not being able to deduct losses. Known that. But when net losses for the year shows no gain, PAYING taxes on non-existent income is complete BS.

So if I 'win' $10,000 in 2022 but then have bets that lose $9,000 I have supposed to pay taxes on the full $10k. I guess I need to stop gambling outside of a casino then. Not taxed on my $1k gain, but on all 'wins.'

There is no point for me as an honest taxpayer to continue gambling. Disappointed to say the least. One of the few entertaining things left in life. Gov greed to the next level.

How would anyone know about your winnings? Is Draftkings legally required to report it to the IRS or something?

Any 'wins' over $600 has them filing a G2(?) form with the IRS with your SS, etc. You don't report and red flags.

Not a fan of the IRS (fraud since 1913 along with the 'Fed') but not paying taxes (by their rules) is like answering your door to Tony Soprano, spitting on him, and then slamming the door. Life will get rough. In 36+ years I've reported every penny of my net gains and paid taxes.

I don't have a big problem with it. Never has government ever giving me a dime; well I guess I did get a C19 check. But paying taxes on winnings and not balancing out winnings with losses for a net figure. Nah, I'm done.

In any online MMA or other gambling even skilled gamblers have a 15% 'winning edge' over time. With taxes, forget it; you are essential working for the government.

If you want to place meager bets go to a casino I guess.

Also, is that screenshot of the $500 wager yours?
$500 parlay + $850 on Allen. I am getting final confirmation of this IRS cash grab before I cancel those though. No point.
As it is, if I could ALWAYS WIN and NEVER LOSE then the taxes would be fair. But that is not how it works. I am a sole proprietor so I can't just through the hoops to do the Pro gambler/itemized deduction thing.

Just be aware that the IRS may seek you out in the future for any documented winnings and taxes regardless of losses.

According to this you can potentially deduct your loss? Yeah, I'd verify the veracity of the tax thing.

EDIT: removed the link. I think your statement is correct.

Letting three bets ride for tomorrow just because the odds have shifted on those in my favor. If I won every bet (lol) I wouldn't get raped by Uncle Sam.
It will be difficult for me not to bet on Khamzat 4/9 my favorite fighter.

Running up hills carrying a boulder and wearing sandbags in Las Vegas.

Absolute badassery.

Well, 100% wins today. First time ever. All six fighters won, three in a parley. Over $1500 in profit, pre-tax of course. Because of the no deducting loses I am super gun shy of betting going forward. Khamzat might be the exception 4/9.
