One of the laws will exempt firearm licenses from public records requests. That's O.K. but the rest? I've said it before that as far as gun control laws we've done better with Obama than a RINO like McCaine or a moderate like Romney. Obama kind of unites the people who fear gun control. If the Republicans don't get a midterm election bump, there is NOTHING to stop Obama's final plans for this country. VOTE and get others to do the same.

I generally do. And that is more the case than usual with Obama, who has great speeches but no ideas.

But don't deride the effect of the "Bully Pulpit." Obama's and Biden's talks about guns have energized the antis like they haven't been for 20 years. Yes, having an anti-gun president is bad for us, I don't care WHO is in congress, because enough pressure seems to be able to get any of those rat-bastards to change his tune like a $2 whore. (McCain anyone?)

Until we get an "elite" political class that "get" gun-rights, this isn't going to change.

Biden and Obama see guns as an evil that only produces bad things. And in their elite, guarded, Extraordinarily well-policed communities, I'd even be willing to look at studies that show them right.

This is the problem.

They can't look at Rachel Jenteal and see, as I do, someone who LIVES in the hood, and who probably needs a gun for self-defense more than I ever will.

I am called a racist for saying she's an inarticulate, semi-illiterate product of the welfare state WHOSE RIGHTS ARE AS IMPORTANT AS MINE.

They are called "compassionate," for taking pity on her and offering her scholarships to "Traditionally Black Colleges and Universities" (In other words, the only colleges who without special tutoring, Jenteal could POSSIBLY hope to pass muster.)

I am about reality. A president, ANY president, who is more about form than substance, is a dangerous ideologue. Whether iyt's about race, welfare, war, whatever. ANY president or hopeful who wants to get my vote has to have a fact-based assessment of reality. Obama sure as Hell doesn't, neither does Christie and neither did Romney. (I think, we'll never know what his actual thoughts were since he was so busy pretending he didn't HAVE any.)
