he made a trip for Thanksgiving to western Wyoming.
400 miles.

14 hours to make the trip.
had to stop and charge the car 4 times

I paid $3000 for my 1979 Chevy Silverado a couple years ago.
For the other $87,000 these cost, I can fuel that big block at 10mpg for a very very long time.

If gas is $3.50/gallon and I then divide that $87,000 into gallons of fuel.
I now have the ability to purchase 24,857 units of fuel.
I get poor mpg with it, but I didn't buy it for gas mileage, I bought it to carry a full load of gravel.
Or to help move somebody, or to haul dirt bikes, or to take stuff out to the gun range.
I can drive it 248,571 miles at that price and still sell it for more than I paid for it.

Rampant consumerism is the issue.
This feller thought he could flip it and screw the next bro-dude like what was done to him.
He just got caught with the poop end of the stick this time.
