I haven't had anything mounted in a long time. Last one was a pheasant that I shot on my Uncles wheat farm in Kansas.

That was a full mount like it is flying. It cost me $380

5-6 hundred is about average

A little advice and hope to help. Judge a taxidermist on how well he does birds. Cause they are hard as hell!
Most suck at them.

Artistic is Portland is good.

My experience with Artistic wasn't so good.
They did a European mount on an elk that ended up being painted white, and still had some flesh on it when we picked it up. However the turn around was real quick. 2 weeks.

A bull that Frontier Taxidermy did for me years ago took about 3 months, and looks gorgeous. Frontier used beetles for fleshing, Artistic probably just boiling and picking.
