I shot this badger today, cut the head off so I can keep the skull. Anyone know how long you boil them for.

Don't boil. Just simmer. Cut off all the meat you can and get the brains out before you start. add some washing soda to the water. Pull it out often to pull off what you can. The idea is to leave it in only as long as it takes to get the meat off.

What I have started doing the last few years is cut as much meat off and clean as good as possible.
Soak for several days in cold water, change water daily.
Wire skull to garbage can, use pressure washer to remove all remaining tissue.
Works really well with deer and elk sized skulls and speeds up the process.
Then soak for couple days in water/hydrogen peroxide mix.
Remove and place in sun for drying.

Badger skull may be a little small for this application.

Bury it outside. Dig it up next spring. Bugs will do the work. Should be clean, but youll have to oxiclean / peroxide it afterward if you want it nice and white.
