OK guys, no laughing. I bought/shot my first .380 acp and am now trying to clean it. At the gun shop, I noticed that there are no .380 brushes. Do you just use a 9mm, or a 38 brush? Just don't want to have to go to a gunsmith, and look even more stupid to have the wrong size cleaning brush removed.

There is no such thing as a stupid question.

You can use a 9mm or .38 cal brush and jags in a .380ACP.

The .380 ACP is also know as the 9mm short (kurz in German). They have the same bore diameter.

Shoot safely and enjoy your new firearm.

Is the 9mmMakarov the same bore diameter?

And a few others all use the same 38/357/9mm brush and jags

9mm, .380, .38 special, .357, and 9mm mak all use the same brush.

9mm and .380 are .355, .38 and .357 are .357, and 9mm mak is .365. So don't use .380 bullets to load 9mm makarov.

FWIW Your brush will work better and last longer if you pass it all the way thru the bore prior to changing direction.
Scrubbing back and forth wit the brush in the bore will cause the bristles to break off prematurely.
