Tinkering with the idea to replace my snub nose with a Ruger SP101 3" 357 Mag. A little more heft to it which should make shooting .38 more fun, a longer barrel for better accuracy, and the option to up the caliber to .357. One of the downsides of that particular model is the front sight. If I go that route I would like to replace the front sight with some night sight or what have you. Anyone gone through that process? I don't have a machine shop, so anything beyond simple tasks would need to go to the gunsmith. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Cheapest offer to install sight was $ 80. Decided to get a vise and do it myself. Tools needed: 1/16th punch, 1/8th punch, soft mallet, 1/16th drill bit, locktight blue, vise, clamp. Done.

Oh, yes, I did end up getting the Trijicon sight. The appear fairly bright.
