Does anyone know a good place to look for a front sight base for a Marlin 39A? They don't seem to be in stock anywhere I look. I have had this rifle for years and I always shot it with a scope because the front sight base was missing. I'd love to put some nice iron sights on it.

Based on some information about serial numbers, mine appears to be from 1967.

Me.....I'd check with Brownell's and Numrich (to begin with). Even, the new Ruglin Co. (Ruger/Marlin) might be able to help.

IF it would make a difference.........if it came off of a rile or carbine length barrel? Not to mention, the height of the sight blade (at this point).
