My kid was going to sell some and got offered 35
Whoever that was had to be hoping he just had no clue and would fall for it. If they had been able to buy it for that they would have of course just sold it to someplace else. Given how many seem to pay no attention I have to wonder how many people are getting taken by places doing just this?

Good on him. That the place even tried tells me they probably are finding someone who bought when it was half that many years ago and did not bother to look. Was this a pawn shop or something?

I honestly dont know, it was in salem and have no idea why he even stopped there. We have 1 guy we have sold to in that past that is really fare. He doesnt need the money, I think more curious than anything

Still going up even at this late hour. I wonder how long before someone at COMEX "accidentally" turns off the server tower cooling again . . . That how they stopped it last time it surged . . .

CRAZY- the Asian markets just opened, and silver jumped immediately to over $69- could hit $70 really soon- crazy!

Yesterday went Xmas shopping for the wife at a coin and jewelry store in Eugene. They buy and sale coins, jewelry, gold and silver. Been shopping at this store for years, on Saturday my daughter and I went shopping for a gift for the wife. When we entered the shop, it was very crowded and had to wait our turn to be helped. I realized that it was holiday shopping, after being helped I soon figured out we were the only purchasing customers. Everybody else was bringing in silver and gold to sell. Spoke with the salesperson asking if this was normal, he said that it's been like this for a couple months. Their phone kept ringing almost none stop. I said I know that you don't have a crystal ball, but do you think the price of gold will come back down. He just said that when it goes down it goes right back up. Crazy World

Last night, my GF asked me to choose one of the several Christmas presents she got me and open it early... ended up being a roll (20 each) of Walking Liberty silver coins. I was frik'n astounded!

After much thanks, I then proceeded to gently chastise her for spending so much on a gift for me. She said it wasn't that bad, as she had bought them a coupla months ago when silver was ~$50/oz. It's almost $70/oz this morning...

"Gold and silver prices are strongly up and hit record highs in midday U.S. trading Monday. Safe haven bidding is featured to start a holiday-shortened trading week, amid heightened geopolitical tensions. February gold was last up $84.00 at $4,471.00. March silver prices were up $0.91 at $68.43. February gold futures hit a record intraday high of $4,477.70, while March silver notched a record intraday high of $69.525 an ounce."

As of 2 minutes ago, 1 oz silver rounds were going for $70.34. That's at Pacific Gold & Silver on Main St. in Vancouver. I'm having thoughts about selling my stash. I paid from $5 to $14 an ounce when I was buying.
