Are you telling us that number in troy pounds or avoirdupois pounds?

1.625 troy pounds would be 19.5 troy oz.
1.625 avoir. pounds would be 26 avoir. oz.

I would expect that you bought in troy pounds, as that is the unit of measurement for PMs...
Lol- I forgot to tell google to do the conversion in Troy ounces ;-) Here's the updated calculation according to GoggleFu:

What silver down $29 in one day ?
It at first dropped by about $35 seemingly overnight. Bounced back a little but very volatile right now. Co worker had an appointment at the place I used several times last week. I asked him how it went and he was happy. When he got there day before the big dip it was at over $107 , but place was now only offering 85% of melt. He saw a few people pick up their stuff and storm out mad. He sold and was glad he did since the next day melt was $10 less than what they had just paid him.

I would just wait to buy again but will be in at $50 a ounce and after people dump their $100 purchases it will be there within a month

A guy I know sold 100 ounces for 112.50 Thursday but it wasnt picked up yet just a promise to buy.Now its 84.00 will he go in and pick them up?He would lose almost 3000.Will see if he does.Of course it could go up to 120.00 Monday.I think this drastic swing in price is making people paranoid.

Holding ours, might convert a bit to gold. If the ratio hits bellow 1:50 again soon.

No biggie if it doesn't though.

They still have value just as they are…

Yep I did it when my boys where younger and was successful. Tried 2 months ago with my young daughters.....no luck

I get silver dimes and nickels from vending machines regularly. Only got one quarter and at one point a machine spit out a non silver half dollar. I don't know why it was stocked with one or how it was programmed but it never happened again

Is there such a thing as a Troy Pound still in use in modern US commerce? I thought pounds were the same, just divided differently. Meaning, one pound contains 12 Troy oz. or 16 Avoirdupois oz.
