Same with invasive squirrels here. Population in Portland is somwwhere between 4 and 10 million by my estimation. These non natives were introduced by state fish and wildlife in the early 1900s. They will eat every last shoot of bamboo in my yard unless I control them. Somewhere between 2500-3000 taken in my yard and it barely slows them down.

Well, we have native bulbed plants. and daffodils but I've never seen a Chipmunk eat them. However they do eat soft plants. Maybe it's something else? You've seen them eat your wife's bulbs? If so, you do what you gotta do. SWMBO rules the house.
Yup, we've seen them. She plants tulip bulbs she gets from The Netherlands and they're kinda pricey. The little rodents dig them up, eat what they wish, and leave the rest.
