Day ten and Dr Stanley at the Corvallis Clinic said my shoulder is doing great. I don't have to wear the sling unless I think it's necessary. I have been sleeping without it and am generally pain free. I just need to not put much weight in the shoulder pushing or pulling with that arm. I can extend it to the right and upward too gently. It will be 12 weeks before the tendon has reattached properly. I am extremely happy with the results. This has gone much better than I expected .
Good. As with all injuries, there is pain going in and pain coming back out, but we keep the long term goal in mind. Day-to-day we may not notice much improvement, but if we look back 2-3 weeks or even a month, we can see the improvement.
Being a stumble bum who ricochets through life, in 2017 I crashed my motorcycle and broke my troublesome R shoulder among other things. Surgery was not needed. Oddly, since it healed by itself it has been pain free. DW has prohibited me from a similar procedure on my L shoulder...

Best wishes for a quick recovery.

This is the main function of a "pain blocker." That is, to make you feel well enough to leave the hospital. And back into other hands for recovery care. They want people out of the hospital ASAP.
I spent the night. The nerve block only lasted until afternoon. I wanted to stay and I made that clear prior to the surgery. I have a friend whose wife had a procedure and they sent her home the same day. She bled out in her sleep.
