But seriously the only point of lugging them around Fred Meyers is to intimidate people. Look at me. Look at me. I've got a big gun the hell. Do you need it in Fred Meyers for you going to kill a cantaloupe? Are you on the way to the range going through Fred Meyers with your cart full of depends and Ensure?
Why does it matter so much to you? Show me where in the 2A does it say right to keep and bear arms shall be limited to whatever the elected people say it shall be limited to?

I'm not saying they don't have the right to do so. Of course they do. But if they really need to be doing that I don't want to be in the same store with them. I don't want to be in a crossfire with whomever hates them that much

My point is you're not doing any of us any favors to help us keep our rights and not cause cause attention and backlash from the left. If you're going to dress up like a gravy seal and lug weapons around the store with you, you're just not helping. If me a retired law officer is uncomfortable with it, just think of how the little old lady standing behind me feels and how she's going to feel when she votes

Normalize open carry of rifles, carbines, shotguns, machetes, open wear of armor, camos, fishnets, body stockings, spikes, chains, leather, normalize all these things. Normalize women wearing see thru tops no matter how ugly, old or fat they are. Normalize fat guys wearing speedos at the pool and beaches and on streets. Normalize people carrying long arms and short arms.

Instead of being uncomfortable and ensuring that the 2A keep getting chipped away because it may freak a few people out.

Instead of being uncomfortable seeing nipples and bulges

Instead of being uncomfortable seeing weird fashion trends.

To me, Id much rather see American citizens exercising their right to 2A in the open than to feel like they cannot.

I'd say someone wearing a fishnet shirt, tight banana hammock, knee high platform boots and spikes everywhere is more intimidating than a couple fat people with AR-15s
I never had anybody like that try to kill me, ok one tried to pick me up when I was security at a gay rodeo, but I was more flattered than afraid for my life. If you want people to respect the rights that you'd like to keep, you need to respect the rights that they'd like to keep too

You being retired law enforcement doesn't get you any points. Hundreds of people have been shot for existing while armed and having an encounter with law enforcement.

Just saying that more Karens would complain about certain fashion choices than weapon choices ;)

It's a pain in the bubblegum to lug my heavy bubblegum fal around. Why would I do it while I was shopping? Wouldn't I need to have a reason that would make some kind of sense to me? That's all I was doing was asking why are you lugging around 100 lb of weapons to buy a shopping cart full of depends and Ensure

I don't know why this thing keeps sticking the word bubble gum in there.

I have the right to stab myself in the eyeball with an ink pen but wouldn't you ask me why I was doing it?
Probably because you saw something you needed to stab yourself with? I probably wouldn't ask why but rather, do you need mental help?

If I saw a couple fat people all decked out and openly carrying rifles, I would ask them where they got the armor that fits them :s0140: as a fellow fat gear fan.

A FAL is over 5, pounds heavier than most AR-15s :s0064:

But they're already carrying a lot of extra weight, a rifle may not register much to their shoulders.

Also, swear filter puts "bubblegum" in place of swear words.

Fair enough but how many times have you actually been shot at? I know what it's like. It goes to show my level of comfort around firearms and how much I've been exposed to them. If that doesn't give me any points I don't care. I'm not trying to get points. I also know what somebody's head looks like when it explodes something I'd love to forget.

Even though there is a pistol on my own hip? You seem to have odd criteria for who you think is pro open carry. But then again today this group seems a lot more closed minded, and easily triggered. I wasn't confronting them about the pistol on their hip. That's for self-defense. I understand that but assault rifles slung over your shoulder in Fred Meyers. What's the point of that? If people really hate you so much that you think you're going to need to fight your way out of Fred Meyers with an assault rifle, please do us all a favor and don't shop here
You're not doing a very good job of convincing me that my previous comment was incorrect.

I'm sorry 36 years with the highway patrol as a State trooper. That is what we called them assault rifles. You're just quibbling with terms trying to make them sound friendly or something
"Assault rifle" has a very specific meaning, and the anti-gun/anti-2nd Amendment crowd commonly misuse the term. No matter what organization you were with, or for how long, your continued misuse of the term is at the very best ignorance. By the way, what state were you a Trooper, if you don't mind me asking?

Unfortunately Law Enforcement engages with the public degenerates often and does condition a view but to equate most gun owners as potential criminals is often a disconnect that has given some police just criticism...... this is not of a personal thought but the insight of police I associate frequently with and who see the potential division . Most of the public are members of their communities that live their lives and desire to invest in good & stand against evil . I am not concerned with the 2nd amendment carrier in plain sight ...... more so of the deviant evil doer wishing harm at any given moment .

So. @trukinbear you say you started collecting guns in the 70s? Wouldn't that make you in your 60s, 70s?

And also... Do the sight of people in gear with slung long arms, in a store really freak you out more, and make you feel threatened? If so, man, you need to lighten up.

A slung rifle or shotgun is no more dangerous than a holstered pistol (except Sig P320 :s0064: ) the bearer is not holding the rifle or shotgun at the low ready with finger on trigger or within reach of trigger.

Yes I'm pushing 70. It doesn't freak me out. I just don't understand why somebody would carry that crap around the store other than just to show off and show that I that they have it. I can't think of any rational reason which is why I asked them. Why are you doing this? Excuse me if you think that makes me anti-gun somehow

And now you're picking on my Sigs :)
