4 years in the Marines, and 36 years as a state trooper - I know what 3 round bursts sound like, but as I said I didn't care (and don't care) enough to investigate further. My only point was that you ASSUME gravy seals are carrying semi-automatic weapons. Oh, and that's what we called them - assault weapons to distinguish from someone with a hunting gun (which will still kill you) who might not have 10 loaded mags.

You don't turn a closed bolt gun into an open bolt gun to make it automatic, that's not how it works unless its a closed bolt conversion of a blowback smg.

Well, I was at an FBI training seminar where a guy did exactly that to four random semi-automatic weapons that were provided to him. I don't know how but it only took him a couple of minutes

I'm about as pro gun, and 2a as you can get, BUT when I'm in Fred Meyers in line behind someone with an assault rifle slung on their back, and 2 or 3 sidearms I don't think he's just exercising his 2a rights, but rather trying to intimidate folks. I usually say something to the effect of - dude, if you're so REVILED that you fear you will have to FIGHT your way out of Fred Meyers, do us ALL a favor - STAY HOME and order your bubblegum to be DELIVERED!

Even though there is a pistol on my own hip? You seem to have odd criteria for who you think is pro open carry. But then again today this group seems a lot more closed minded, and easily triggered. I wasn't confronting them about the pistol on their hip. That's for self-defense. I understand that but assault rifles slung over your shoulder in Fred Meyers. What's the point of that? If people really hate you so much that you think you're going to need to fight your way out of Fred Meyers with an assault rifle, please do us all a favor and don't shop here

I'm sorry 36 years with the highway patrol as a State trooper. That is what we called them assault rifles. You're just quibbling with terms trying to make them sound friendly or something
