I inherited a pistol from my father. What do I need to be aware of to trade, sell, transfer it? Ideally I'd like to trade it for some rifle parts, but want to do everything legal and above board.

Just sell or trade it within the state reside, do not sell or trade it to someone you even suspect is not afrom your state or legally able to own it.

Also use a firearm bill if sale there is one available for printing here or others on web. Keep a copy for your records.

Bill of sale, WA state ID required and if you want to add another layer of piece of mind require a CPL. Don't be in a rush to sell/trade, if it doesn't feel right walk away.
