well it is time to get some better glass for my hunting rifles and get rid of the ones that came with them in the packages. i am gonna be scoping my marlin 336 30-30 and savage 111 30-06.
this is what i am looking at
vx-3 2.5-8x36 for the 30-30 boone crocket
vx-3 4.5-14x40 boone crocket w/ adj. obj. for the 30-06

i am gonna be switching the 30-06 out later for a 300wm

the 30-30 will be my woods gun for anything short of 200 yards and the 30-06 or 300 when i get it will be for anything 200 yards and up.

i am planning on using the hornady ftx 160gr leverevolutions in the 30-30

anyone else have any experience with these scopes?
im kinda set on these 2 because i can get a great deal on them for about 750$ for both of them otherwise i would probably go with a standard duplex for the 30-30.
but when i get the 300 i might throw the 2.5 on the 30-06 and get a 1.5-5x20 w/ the german #4 reticle for the 30-30

I have the vx-3 2.5x8 and could not be happier I bought a 2.5x16 Bushnell and put it on my 308 Montana Kimber and went right back to Leupold it is much lighter great morning and night glass. It is set up on burris signature rings and has the Boone Crocket. The only thing I wish for is the same scope at 1.5x8 with first plane reticle so no matter what power it was set you could use the range marks.
