I found one spot up there that had clearly been used for target practice, but it was essentially a hilltop when facing west or north, and there was NO berm or backstop in the direction that folks had been shooting--based on location of shotgun shells and bullet casings and the location of targets left there--other than lots of trees and perhaps distance to spots further down the road toward the highway. The odds aren't great that a round fired out there wouldn't hit some tree if fired through a couple hundred yards of woods, but still pretty unsafe to other recreational users. The fact that these shooters left all of their garbage and targets says they did not fall into the responsible shooter category.Even when it appears shooters are being responsible, it's a little unnerving when you pass half a dozen spots that are packed ... Driving further in, never know if the berms and trees will be enough![]()
