Was up there today at a pit off Wheeler Road, just me and plenty of deer (they left when I started shooting though, not AR fans apparently). Decent amount of snow was coming down too, but was wide open for business.
how many pits/lanes are off the Salmonberry Road? According to the map at the top of this thread "45.7538391,-123.419243", i see the area in red. Are the other 2 in yellow also for shooting? Are there more?

coming up Salmonberry Road to that pit circled in red there's about 3-4 different pits that people shoot at. Wheeler Road has a couple of spots as well. The 2 in yellow I believe is where they are logging at right now.
Thanks @bad pony ! Yeah, i zoomed out a bit more. I assume you are talking about some of these spots (probably more obvious when driving by)

If I read your pic right, that last spot circled is not a shooting lane and is unsafe to shoot at and has been closed. We put a sign up a while back but people keep shooting and stealing tbe sign.
It has no backstop in any direction.
Got up a little late on Sunday but still gave it a shot and tried our luck. Originally aimed for Wolf Creek road but all lanes were packed and taken so we headed down to Salmonberry. Right as we turned onto Timber, 3 cars were flying down followed by another shortly after so we felt lucky. BTW, folks, SLOW DOWN, you ain't Colin McRae!

I am not sure the first spot on the right is actually a shooting pit or not. I've never seen anyone shooting there and I've seen people camp there. We took the pit on the left and no having to share lane with anyone. There were four of us and saw many drove up and down and no one tried to ask us to share lane. Although we did save the right side for others just in case.
The pit was not in the greatest shape. A lot of trash left behind and people have been shooting cans, spray bottles, glass, etc. My kid didn't feel like shooting, but as we were cleaning up, he jump out of the car and started cleaning with us. My kid (7 years old) doesn't need to be told, even though he was shooting, would know to clean up. You can do it too!

They're logging big time further up the road, so watch out for the log trucks. They really haul bubblegum on that road and have the right of way.
Certainly drive safe but logging trucks dont have the right of way...
The Salmonberry Road will not be gated but it will be heavily patrolled. People without the appropriate fire tools will be asked to leave the Forest immediately.
The requirement, for any vehicle traveling through the forest, is min 1 shovel and 1 gallon of water. A better pack would be a shovel and 2 gallons water. Acceptable, and better yet, is a shovel and a fire extinguisher (I add an axe to that).Hey @Cogs , what does it mean by "appropriate fire tools"? Thanks!
