Like NEW 629-3 44 Mag. S&W told me it was a PRE-marked Mountain gun. Bought from original owner and looks to be fired very little. $900 obo.

The S&W mountain pistols I own and have owned have a noticable tappered reduction in barrel diameter for weight reduction and have Mountain Gun engraved in the barrel...

Not all mountain guns said it on the barrel.(per S&W) I sent the serial number to S&W and that's what they told me.

Correct they do not all say mountain gun, but every mountain gun ive ever seen has the tapered barrel. Possible the barrel has been replaced?

Nope. Completely original and from original owner that I knew. Maybe it's not. I'll list it as a standard. Thanks for your insight.
