S&W 610-3 Hammer Block

I opened my S&W 610-3 to check out the internals. As the picture shows there is no hammer block. I am new to the S&W revolvers so I don't know if this model had one or if it was removed. Is it needed? Will any 610 hammer block work in a dash 3?

Numrich Gun Parts schematic shows one. # 78 and it fits into the rebound slide # 75 with a small pin. Look at page 4.

That Model Smith and Wesson does not have a hammer block because of design changes.

Gotta take the side plate off and check for a slot. New to S&W revolvers.

OK, talked to S&W and they say this is a safety part, protects from a drop or hit on the hammer. My understanding is some take it out as a useless part. I just ordered one, I would rather be safe then sorry.
