After seeing a project on another forum I decided to give it a shot This is a standard Ruger 10/22 made to look like an old Spencer/Sharps/Springfield Trapdoor carbine Links to my blog where you can see the whole construction of this carbine TINCANBANDIT's Gunsmithing: The Ruger Spencer Carbine Part 1 TINCANBANDIT's Gunsmithing: The Ruger Spencer Carbine Part 2 TINCANBANDIT's Gunsmithing: The Ruger Spencer Carbine Part 3
Cool looking build. Always neat to have something different that what everyone else has. Thanks for sharing. Andy
Cool project. I looked over your blog post, looks like some work went into that. Interesting about your issues with the birch stock - I refinished an old Marlin Model 60 with a birch stock a couple of years ago. I was fortunate that the stain took to the wood fairly evenly, but there were a few spots that got a bit darker than others, just not so much to make it obvious. Nice work.
I like that, interesting and not weird! I really like the saddle ring, I've never seen one I didn't like!
